The world is divided into four kingdoms, each represented by the element they harness, and peace has lasted throughout the realms of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire under the supervision of the Avatar, a link to the spirit world and the only being capable of mastering the use of all four elements. When young Avatar Aang disappears, the Fire Nation launches an attack to eradicate all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination. 100 years pass and current Fire Lord Ozai continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental “bending” abilities in the Earth and Water Kingdoms, while siblings Katara and Sokka from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the ice outside their village. Upon rescuing him, he reveals himself to be Aang, Avatar and last of the Air Nomads. Swearing to protect the Avatar, Katara and Sokka journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master “Waterbending” and eventually fulfill his destiny of once again restoring peace to the world. But as they inch nearer to their goal, the group must evade Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Lord Ozai, Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation’s military leader, and the tyrannical onslaught of the evil Fire Lord himself.

STREET DANCE 3D COMING SOON TO SGC CINEMA DUNGARVAN

StreetDance 3D opens in SGCDUNGARVAN ON 21st May

A London dance crew training for the UK Street Dance Championships are forced to work with ballet dancers from the Royal Dance School in return for rehearsal space. With no common ground and with passions riding high, they realise they need to find a way to join forces to win.

Charlotte Rampling (The Duchess, Swimming Pool) heads a diverse cast of new and emerging dance and acting talent including Nichola Burley (Kicks, Love + Hate, Donkey Punch) and Richard Winsor (Dorian Grey at Saddler’s Wells, Edward Scissorhands at Saddler’s Wells), with George Sampson making his debut screen performance. StreetDance also introduces to the screen dance sensations Diversity, winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2009, and BGT finalists and Street Dance Champions Flawless.

Directed by the award winning promo duo Max and Dania and written by Jane English, StreetDance 3D will be filmed using the latest 3-D technology, making it the first British movie to be shot in 3-D.

How to Train your Dragon – Movie Trailer

Kid stuff? Maybe. But How to Train Your Dragon, from the book by Cressida Cowell, works enough miracles of 3-D animation to charm your socks off. The story follows conventional lines: Viking teen Hiccup (voiced with sly comic skill by Jay Baruchel) is a wimpy misfit to his chief-dad, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), and the babe-ish Astrid (America Ferrera). They want all dragons dead. After befriending the wounded beast Toothless, Hiccup wants to make peace, and Gobber (Craig Ferguson, hilarious), the village blacksmith, thinks he has a point. That’s it for plot. But writer-directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois (Lilo & Stitch) make funny, touching, sublime entertainment out of it.
